Suffolk Wildlife Trust calls for double nature in new biodiversity policy

We have been asked by The Suffolk Wildlife Trust, who are advising us on the West Suffolk Local Plan, to help publicise their campaign asking West Suffolk Council to double their biodiversity ‘net gain’ policy from new development.

They say: “There is no reason that developers and housebuilders should not be able to build houses to high standards of energy and water efficiency and comply with 20%. We need them to do both to ensure new housing is up to meeting the challenges of climate change and the nature crisis.”.

Please do click the button below to find out more and then complete the questionnaire – because if the Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s request to West Suffolk Council is accepted this will have a beneficial effect on ALL new developments in West Suffolk.

As the Trust say “More nature is good for us, and development needs to do its bit to help bring nature back to where we live”.
